About the Author
Deep Patel is a young writer and entrepreneur. He is the author of A Paperboy's Fable: The 11 Principles of Success. In the book, he interviewed 15 industry luminaries including professors, entrepreneurs, CEO's and General David Petraeus.
In addition, Patel has served as script editor and creative consultant for the comedy She Wants Me (2012), produced by Charlie Sheen. He has also been featured in Forbes, The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine and Elite Daily. Patel is currently finishing up his second book, The Gray Veil.

We should all be Paperboys!

I was never a paperboy, but I might as well have been. Paperboys are synonymous with the hard work, diligence, perseverance, and discipline of the most motivated young people who want to succeed in life. I took a different route with mowing and raking lawns, picking up trash, and washing cars as a youngster, but it was still that idea of being my own boss and making my own way from a young age that shaped me. That's one of the reasons this book grabbed my attention. There are many others why it kept it.
I read my share of non-fiction books, mostly business books and history, but by far, this is my favorite type of book...the fable. In case you're not familiar, it's basically a book that teaches you the lessons and knowledge of a non-fiction book but interwoven within the narrative and dialogue of a fiction. It's a strategy that's been done ever since the Brothers Grimm made it famous and much longer even before them. It works. I promise that you'll learn these lessons so much better from Ty, the main character, than you would as a list of rules and ideas.
My favorite book of this type is The Goal by Eliyahu Goldratt. If you've ever read that one, you'll simply love this book. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki is very similar in its writing as well, as is The One Minute Millionaire by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen. If you're looking for a book for yourself that will teach the principles of success, you can't go wrong with this one. Another ideal reader for this book are any young folks you might be mentoring, raising, or teaching as the story deals with their age group.
As a special bonus to this fable are the interviews with real world leaders at the end of the book. It's like the author just keeps on giving and serving.

Success isn't given, it's earned...

I preordered this book after seeing it the May copy of Kirkus Magazine. I received it a couple of days ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. Entrepreneurs are faced with some very difficult circumstances in today's world.
This book addresses eleven principles of success that every adult, young or old, needs to consider and apply to many aspects of life. The author goes deeply into the subject matter while keeping it light, fun, and easy to read.
It's a book of instruction, yes, but it's also a book that offers hope. The book young’s protagonist, Ty, didn't fall into success; he earned it every step of the way, even when it felt like nothing was going right. One of the first things that really stood out to me very early in the book was a conversation with a bank teller who told him he should be depositing into his savings instead of withdrawing, and his reply included the words, "investment in myself."
In addition, the questions and answers in the book are in an interview-style format. They help solidify the eleven principles that Deep Patel outlines throughout the book.
I love this book and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for success in some aspect of their life.

The results are revolutionary methods of creating successful startups. With interviews with notable professionals in their respective fields, such as CEO’s and even military generals, Patel provides 11 Principles of Success which are invaluable lesson interwoven with Ty’s engrossing story. This is frankly, a wonderful way of presenting business strategies in an interesting and easy-to-read-and-retain manner. In addition to the business acumen at such an early age, Mr. Patel has a gift of writing interesting narratives. I was hooked from the very first chapter and an eager to apply some of these principles to my own professional life. I can’t recommend this book enough to anyone who is searching for a better path to business prosperity.
